BIO

 

Mayte Gómez Molina (Madrid por accidente, Granada por sangre, 1993) es una escritora, investigadora y artista de nuevos medios que utiliza la escritura como eje vertebrador de una práctica plural. Utiliza la poesía y la ficción en un sentido tradicional, creando objetos «libro», pero también explora la expansión de la literatura a formatos digitales a través de ensayos y poemas a través del cine digital, 3D y la realidad virtual. Sus trabajos audiovisuales han sido exhibidos en múltiples instituciones y festivales del mundo, como la 36º Bienal de Artes Gráficas de Liubliana, Tabakalera Donosti, Documenta Madrid, Festival de Sevilla, FILE São Paulo, MMMAD Festival y el  Moss Arts Center en Virginia Tech.

En 2021 publicó Mi piel virtual, cansada (Universidad de Granada, 2021), un poemario que contiene un ensayo y un experimento visual creado a partir de imágenes recopiladas por internet. Era una pieza más de la primera exposición individual de Gómez Molina, titulada «Me veo la nuca». Su segundo libro de poesía, Los Trabajos sin Hércules, ganó el Premio Nacional de Poesía Joven Miguel Hernández en 2023. Su último libro de poemas, Circuito Cerrado de Vigilancia (cielo santo, 2024) trata sobre la relación de las personas con la tecnología y las fricciones que producen navegar el mundo digital e híper tecnológico con un cuerpo analógico y antiguo.  Su primera novela, La boca llena de trigo, ha visto la luz en marzo de 2026 gracias a la editorial Anagrama.  

Becaria Fulbright 2019-2021, estudió un Máster en Cine, Vídeo, Nuevos Medios y Animación en The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Actualmente forma parte del Programa de Doctorado MAKE/SENSE en la Academia de Arte y Diseño de Basilea, donde también es docente en el Instituto de Arte, Género y Naturaleza. 

 

Mayte Gómez Molina (Madrid, 1993) is a writer, researcher, and new media artist whose practice uses writing as the backbone of a plural body of work grounded in digitally produced images, including 3D, VR, and digital cinema. Through these tools, she explores the body as a political subject, perception as a social agreement, and visibility and invisibility as sites of survival and resistance. Her work has been exhibited internationally at institutions and festivals such as the 36th Ljubljana Biennale of Graphic Arts, Tabakalera Donosti, Documenta Madrid, Festival de Sevilla, FILE São Paulo, MMMAD Festival, and the Moss Arts Center at Virginia Tech. 

Her poetry book Los Trabajos sin Hércules (No Labours for Hercules) was awarded the National Prize for Young Poetry of Spain in 2023. Her second poetry book, Circuito Cerrado de Vigilancia (Closed Surveillance Circuit), examines the frictions between analog bodies and digital spaces, questioning the obsolete binaries of natural and artificial. Her first novel, La boca llena de trigo (A Mouthful of Wheat) was published by Anagrama in March of 2026. 

She holds an MFA in Film, Video, New Media, and Animation from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, completed with a Fulbright scholarship. She is currently a PhD candidate in the MAKE/SENSE program at the FHNW in Basel (Switzerland), where she also teaches at the Academy of Art and Design, at the Institute of Art, Gender and Nature.
