Siete años de mala suerte es una oda a romper el espejo. Una doble de voz de la artista creada mediante Inteligencia Artificial narra un poema que condensa la traumática experiencia de rendirse a los deseos del otro, con la consiguiente pérdida de identidad y de autoestima que esto conlleva. El uso de la IA interesa a la artista porque defiende que el uso de las máquinas podría acercarnos más a profundizar sobre lo que significa ser humano, no a alejarnos de ello. Al utilizar esta doble de voz, la artista pudo escucharse a sí misma hablando de experiencias traumáticas sin tener que narrarlas ella misma, desplegando así una situación cuántica: la artista ha recitado y no ha recitado el poema. Este vídeo usa found footage de ASMR e imaginería de cuerpos generada mediante 3D para hablar sobre la idea de un cuerpo que se adapta y modifica con las acciones de los demás. Esta pieza invita a pensar sobre el espejo y el espejo digital de la pantalla, y anima a romperlos, porque siete años de mala suerte son mejores que una vida entera de esclavitud.
Seven Years of Bad Luck is an ode to the breaking of the mirror. An AI voice double of the artist narrates a poem that condenses the traumatic experience of surrendering to other’s desires, with the loss of identity and self-stem that brings along. The idea of the AI voice double is of interest to the artist because she defends a human use of machines, one that could bring us closer to our essence instead of away from it. Using the AI voice double, the artist could hear herself talking about experiences she has not been brave enough to share in her own voice – until now. The voice AI double allows a double, somehow quantum reality to unfold – she has and has never said what we hear in the piece. The video uses ASMR found footage and 3D imagery of bodies to complete this idea of a flexible body that adapts to what others expect from it, and tries to recover from that. This piece is an invitation to look away from the mirror and the digital mirror a screen is, because even seven years of bad luck are better than a life of slavery.
